Lot 116
KINGS OF MACEDON. Perdikkas II, 451-413 BC. Tetrobol (Silver, 14 mm, 2.00 g, 11 h), light Macedonian standard, circa 446/5-438/7. Horse walking right, raising right foreleg. Rev. Crested helmet to right within double linear border within incuse square. Raymond 161. SNG ANS 42-44. Beautifully toned. Slightly rough, otherwise, good very fine.

From the Kleinkunst Collection, ex Leu 79, 31 October 2000, 499 and Münzen & Medaillen XXVIII, 19 June 1964, 112.

An interesting minor detail about this coin is that the horse is clearly raising its right foreleg, as opposed to almost all the other known examples, where it is raising its left foreleg.
